Rain!! As of the morning (Monday), we had a rain shower come through overnight. Though slight, it still cools and clears the air for a time. Although it’s not fall yet, this gives us hope that a milder season is approaching.

County approves the budget and tax rate

County Commissioners approved a $11.5 million budget that includes a fivepercent increase for ten elected officials. This also includes $5,000 increases for Justice of the Peace 1 and 2 in order to bring their salaries more in line with their responsibilities. The new tax rate of .

City Council approves HOT funds request

The Post City Council approved the recommendations of the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) committee at this meeting on Tuesday evening. The committee is comprised of Pixie Grisham, Barbara Hardin, Ruth Torrens, Ashley Hawkins, and Lisa Kirkpatrick.
