Southland ISD receives perfect score on audit

SOUTHLAND Southland ISD received a “Random Intruder Detection Audit” conducted by the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) in coordination with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) this past week. Southland ISD earned a perfect rating of “No Findings,” indicating no corrections were required.

2022 Cotton Quality Report

This is a weekly summary of the cotton classed at the Lubbock and Lamesa USDA Cotton Division Cotton Classing Offices for the 2022 production season. Lamesa’s average daily number of cotton samples received this week is 1,361. The office is currently 5.

Harvest remains ahead of schedule

According to USDA’s Crop Progress report for the week ending Oct. 23, 45% of the U.S. cotton crop has now been harvested – up 8 percentage points in the past seven days and 6 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average for this date. On a state-by-state basis, it’s more impressive.
