On July 8, the City of Post council opened with a public hearing concerning code violations and substandard conditions at 502 W. Fifth St., a property owned by Pablo Mendoza. Danny Barrett of Texas Communities Group presented the matter following a 90-day extension granted in August 2024.

BIKE WINNERS During the annual July 4th parade in Post, children who participated in the parade were entered in a drawing to win a bicycle. Garza County Community Recovery Center donated two bikes; lucky recipients were Alex Reece and Desire Bell.

SPAG looking for park support letters by August

In an email to the Dispatch last week, City Manager Rhett Parker requested that the community write letters of support for the City of Post’s Parks and Recreation grant application.The city has held public hearings to make a list of what the public wishes to see at South Lake Park.

AUSTIN — Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock reported that state sales tax revenue totaled $4.04 billion in June, 2.5 percent more than in June 2024. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.
