A Harvest Moon will appear beginning the night of September 9th this year. This moon appears only once a year. How fitting for it to happen the night of homecoming for Post.
It will appear soon after sunset, so those going to the game will be able to see it as it moves over the visitors stands. For the classes having a reunion this weekend you can really sing, “Shine on Harvest Moon”.
The Harvest Moon is determined by the autumnal equinox (September 22,2022). The full moon nearest to this date is called the Harvest Moon. It can be in September or October. If it is in September, it replaces the usual Corn Moon, which is the most common. If it occurs in October, it will replace the Hunters Moon.
The Harvest Moon will shine Friday through Sunday nights. The peak of brightness will be at 6:58 A.M. Saturday morning.
