Garza County youth livestock program stands the test of time
FAMILY TRADITION of agricultural excellence has defined the community for generations. After years of planning in the mid-twentieth century, Garza County broke ground on its first 4-H barn and fair building in March 1958, with Forest Lumber Company completing construction in time for the October 1959 show. The original facility, located south of the city-county park, cost $8,918 and featured a 40-by-60-foot exhibit room with a kitchen plus a 44-by-80-foot stock b...
