Southland 2022 Homecoming

The 2022 homecoming was held in Southland Friday, September 9th. The eagles played Kress for the homecoming football game, winning the game 52 - 6. The homecoming king and queen were crowned before the game. The king is senior Lucien Arocha. The queen is Brailey Nelson a junior.

This Week at Southland ISD

Thursday, September – Junior High Football – Junior High Eagles will play Lorenzo starting at 5:30pm. Friday, September 16 – Eagles Football – Varsity Eagles Football will travel to Lorenzo. Game will start at 7:30pm.

This Week at School

Thursday, September 15 – JH Football – The junior high football teams will travel to Abernathy with games starting at 5pm. Thursday, September 15 – JV Football– The JV Bold Gold will host Abernathy to play at 6pm.

High School Enrollment for school year 2022-2023

Kent Price, high school principal reported the enrollment for the current year. Total enrollment is 218 9th grade – 65 10th grade – 67 11th grade – 45 12th grade – 41 Twenty-six students are taking a total of 67 dual class courses. Six students who travel daily to Slaton for cosmetology.

• He has been coaching half of his ten-year coaching career in Post. • Coach Maldonado is the Head Baseball Coach. • He is currently coaching running back and linebackers. • He is the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. • Coach Maldonado has coached in Vega, River Road and Tahoka.
