City of Post hires Public Works Director/Dog Catcher

The City of Post hired Michael Cole as the Public Works Director on April 1, 2024. His responsibilities include supervising five city employees who care for the parks, streets, cemetery and airport maintenance. In addition, he will also be the animal control officer and code enforcement officer.

AUSTIN—The growth of industrial-scale users of power could strain the Texas power grid, ERCOT’s chief announced last week. The Dallas Morning News reported Pablo Vegas, the agency’s CEO, said bitcoin miners and artificial intelligence data centers going in across the state, as well as industrial growth in the Permian Basin, could create the need for a massive buildup of power transmission lines in the future.

AUSTIN— Early voting began Monday, April 22 for municipal, school board and various bond elections. It ends on April 30 with Saturday, May 4 being election day. What is on the ballot depends on where you live.

The total cost of the items must be less than $75 for most items on the list, such as batteries, first aid kits, flashlights, tarps, and fire extinguishers. Higher amounts are allowed for portable generators (less than $3,000) and emergency ladders and hurricane shutters (less than $300).
