A freshly baked scone and a cup of tea are indeed a classic combination, and for fall, you can’t beat the combination of pecan and pumpkin for baked goods. I’ve put pen to paper many times regarding my love of pumpkins and how it stems from my grandparents who were pumpkin farmers.

Most of my favorite desserts are those made with fruit. Maybe it’s a nutritional thing, making me feel less quilt. Of course, we can also do so much to take even fruit-filled desserts over the top that we cancel out the good nourishment.

Chile peppers give to us in so many ways, from fresh chiles to pickled varieties, to roasted chiles, dehydrated ones that get ground into powder, and dried ones reconstituted in liquid to make fabulous sauces. I was gifted a large variety of chiles from a delightful lady I met at a book festival.
