The other afternoon I was going home from Main Street to the north of Hwy. 84. I saw three gas prices, all different. The first thing that went through my old mind was, “Gas War”. When I first got my driver’s license, there were gas wars all the time.

During the holidays, I like to have ingredients on hand such as apple cider to create a mulled cider with. And I usually have other ingredients leftover that I may not often keep, such as heavy cream.

I have now lived in Post for 73 New Year’s Eve celebrations. There has been some type of celebration to bring in the New Year most of those years. When I was a child, I went with my parents to their party. It usually consisted of food and playing cards.

Let’s end this year and begin the next on a high note. A Japanese study found that people over age 75 may benefit from a regular glass of wine. The study followed 1,226 men and women in Japan aged 75 to 87.

Who’s ready to ring in 2023? I do try to focus on some of the wonderful aspects of this past year; there were certainly many things to be thankful for. But I’m also excited to move forward.
