The Heirloom Kitchen Christmas Tamales

Many folks can’t think of a Christmas meal without tamales. This very popular treat is often made together by a large group of family members – each one being responsible for a particular step in the process. When a group comes together to make tamales, the event is referred to as a tamalada.

Do You Remember?

If you saw the lighted Christmas parade the other week, you saw a lot of Santa Clause on many of the floats. How did all those Santas get to Post this late in the Christmas season? All you do is ask the youngers or the young at heart and you will tell you they are “Santa’s helpers”.

The Heirloom Kitchen

I love a traditional gingerbread house, but cakes made in Bundt pan “molds” are easy and fun to use. This one featured is made by Nordicware. When I make this gingerbread house, I like to keep it out on display; however, it does tend to dry out the cake.

People of The Light!

The Bible is full of illustrations, concrete illustrations of the spiritual. They are so helpful. We can better imagine what we cannot see. We are supposed to live by faith and not by sight, so it is good to use the mind’s eye to visualize.

Amity Study Club News

Amity members met recently at the home of Carol Williams for the November meeting. The program was presented by Jay Young and Carol Williams, introducing the proposed Gazebo project to be constructed on the Garza County Courthouse grounds.
