Last Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) took the first step toward considering stopgap funding legislation needed by September 30th to avoid a government shutdown. The House is ready to move straight to the bill this week once it comes over from the Senate.

It’s not too late for a backyard barbeque to celebrate the change of seasons. Good side dishes make it even better. When I was young and moving around as a military spouse, from Air Force base to Air Force base, experiencing different cuisines, and recipes from other families, was part of the fun.

Class of 1957 65th Reunion

The Post High School Class of 1957 met for their 65th class reunion Saturday at the Happy State Bank Community Room from 10 until 3 o’clock. The morning was spent visiting with coffee and donuts available. Thirteen classmates and guests were entertained by Eddy and Debbie Hanks of Seymour.

A full weekend of festivities was enjoyed by 21 classmates for their 55th class reunion. Classmates came from all over Texas to greet each other. The class met at Winehouse 127 for a visit and then went to the pregame fundraiser dinner that the Pride of Post Band held at the school cafeteria.
