State grant to support Garza EMS equipment upgrades

Garza County EMS has received approval for a $500,000 state grant that could fund the purchase of a new ambulance and critical emergency medical equipment, according to EMS Director Rodney Tidwell.“We’re extremely happy about it,” Tidwell said.

Children ages 13 and younger are invited to participate in the annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 13, at Post City Park.Hosted by Post Masonic Lodge No. 1058, the event will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. Fishing is scheduled from 8 to 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m.

Francis named TxDOT Lubbock district engineer

Kylan Francis, P.E., was recently named the district engineer for TxDOT’s Lubbock District, according to a press release from the agency. She is the first woman to hold the job, and a Floydada High School graduate.

Post swimming pool opens for summer season

The Post Swimming Pool officially opened for the summer season Monday, May 25, welcoming families and swimmers for another year of summer fun in Post.The pool, located at U.S. Highway 84 and Third Street, is open to the public seven days a week, weather permitting, from 1 to 5 p.m.
