MTC completes Correctional Officer week with BBQ Cookoff

The week of May 6-12 was Correctional Officer’s Appreciation Week. MTC’s Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility completed the week with a BBQ cookoff. Four teams competed for the bragging rights. Chicken, sausages and pork chops were purchased from Jackson Bros. for the cookoff.

Texas legislature passes alternative meats labels bill

A bill that protects consumers from misleading claims about alternative meat products has passed the Texas Legislature and now heads to Gov. Greg Abbott for his signature. The committee substitute for SB-664 by Sen. Charles Perry aims to ensure meat products are accurately labeled.
