Garza County Sheriff’s Dept. arrests suspect in Clovis murder

Garza County Sheriff Terry Morgan and Patrol Sgt Travis Johnson arrested Patrick Quinones, 21, in Post on Monday night, charging him with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence in connection with a Monday morning homicide in Clovis, NM.

County and MTC sign off expansion for Dalby Unit

Garza County Judge Lee Norman and Warden Rick Martinez, representing MTC and Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility, signed a new agreement with the Texas Commission of Jail Standards last week. The new agreement will allow the prison to expand to 1,024 inmates.

Last week we had a question from a former resident, Cherri Cummings Simpson. Cherri wanted to know when the Algerita Hotel burned. The hotel was located where Silent Night Village is today. I know there was another Algerita at the corner of the block the Dispatch is on, but it never burned.
