Upcoming Candidates Forum Tuesday

The Post Area Chamber of Commerce and The Post Dispatch will host a candidate forum for the candidates on the May 6 election ballot. The forum will be held in the Lonestar room of the Community Center on Tuesday, April 18, at 6:00 p.m.

Garza County Sheriff’s Dept. arrests suspect in Clovis murder

Garza County Sheriff Terry Morgan and Patrol Sgt Travis Johnson arrested Patrick Quinones, 21, in Post on Monday night, charging him with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence in connection with a Monday morning homicide in Clovis, NM.

County and MTC sign off expansion for Dalby Unit

Garza County Judge Lee Norman and Warden Rick Martinez, representing MTC and Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility, signed a new agreement with the Texas Commission of Jail Standards last week. The new agreement will allow the prison to expand to 1,024 inmates.

Plains Cotton Growers Inc. held its 66th annual meeting at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center on March 28, 2023. While adversity has had the cotton industry in a chokehold over the past 15 months, the industry’s people continue to prove their grit and resiliency.
