City loses garbage truck in trash fire

The City of Post lost a garbage truck last week when a fire broke out in the trash container. City Manager Rhett Parker said the driver could see the smoke and took off to the landfill to dump the burning load. “The fire burnt the hydraulic system where he could not dump the burning trash.

Good Friday Closing

Post ISD and Southland ISD will have a holiday on Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10. School will resume at regular time on Tuesday, April 11 for both schools. Other Good Friday closings will include, City of Post, Garza County Courthouse, Post Public Library, Giles W.

Saturday, April 1 – Softball – Varsity girls will travel to Tahoka to continue district play at 11:00 am. Saturday, April 1 – Baseball – Varsity and JV will play Seagraves at home to continue district play. Varsity will start at 12:00 pm and JV at 2:30 pm.

Tuesday, April 4 – School Picture Day – Spring pictures at school will be this day. Tuesday, April 4 – JH District Track – Junior High track teams will finish out their season at the district meet at Petersburg.
