Marvin Self announces bid for re-election

I am is running for a third term as mayor of Post Texas. Serving as mayor of the City of Post, I have enjoyed these last two terms very much. When entering office in 2019, I had many things to learn and understand.
On Tuesday, March 21, the staff from Dalby Correctional Facility visited with the senior and junior high school classes at Tahoka ISD about career possibilities in the field of corrections at the Giles W. House fire leaves family temporarily displaced

The Post Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Sunday afternoon at 615 N. Ave M. The home is owned by Christy Hair, who lives there with her daughter. They were home at the time the fire broke out but were unaware until a neighbor came to her door.

During the week of March 18 - 24, 2023, The Post Municipal Court had 9 cases and collected $2,847.40 in fines and fees. The following cases are closed/guilty/fines and fees are in collection: • Charles Parker: Speeding 50/35 zone - $356.50 / Violate Promise to Appear - $420.

City Council votes 3-2 to increase rent on Community Center

The Post City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 21, with all members present. In a 3-2 vote, the council approved increasing rental rates for the Post Community Center. Evonne Sapp and Jeff Hood voted “no” to the increase.
Congratulations to Jesus “Chuy” Montoya on achieving 7th place at the Texas High School Powerlifting meet in Abilene on March 25. Montoya competed in Division 4, Class 2, 148 Weight Class. Over 164 lifters completed for the state title. He lifted a total of 1150-lbs: Squat 445, Bench Press 275, and Dead Lift 430.
