It’s not how city workers wanted to start the work week after a holiday weekend but work on water lines for Post residents took top priority last Tuesday, Jan. 3. City workers started working on a water leak at the 11th and Avenue P intersection.

This week is Epiphany – January 6th! Epiphany encompasses many things, but probably the most well-known is the recognition of the “three kings.” The Biblical account of their journey is found in Matthew 2:1-12. They were Magi from the east who came to worship and bring gifts to the new born King.

Lee Ann Ray retired from Garza County Animal Hospital on Dec. 30, after 12 years of service. Twelve years ago, Lee Ann walked through their doors and volunteered to help Dr. Kerry and Kristi Wink. Their clinic was on many prayer lists, and the strictest budget had no room for paid employees.

Sheriff Morgan swore in his newest Deputy on Tuesday morning. Morgan and his department welcomed Sean Thornton to Garza County Sheriff’s Office. Sean came from Olton Police Department and started his law enforcement career in 2012 with the Bailey County Sheriff’s Office in the detention division.
