Roy Glenn Briggs of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Justiceburg, passed away on July 14, 2024. Roy was born in Justiceburg, TX, to Lloyd Leslie and Gladys Mae(Reed) Briggs on October 16, 1934. He graduated from Post High School in 1952 and joined the United States Army, serving three years as a paratrooper. Two of those years were spent in the Korean War.
Roy retired from Southern Pacific Railroad as head of the Special Agents department in San Antonio. He was an Honorary Member of the Texas Rangers and served 20 years in local and state law enforcement.
Roy married Helen Briggs in Lubbock, TX, in 1954. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on October 19. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jackie Dean Briggs, son David, and grandson Jeff. To carry on his memory are his wife Helen, three daughters, 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on July 27, 2024, in San Antonio with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
