Royce Lee Josey 89, of Cooper, TX formerly of Post passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Birchwood Nursing and Rehab in Cooper, TX. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at the Church of Christ in Post. Interment will follow at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Royce was born October 30, 1935, in Post to the Late Walter Clay and Addie Jane (Young) Josey. He lived most of his life in Post and worked many years in the oil field as a field supervisor.
Royce is survived by two sons Rodney Josey of Sulphur Springs, TX., and Mike Sullivan of Dallas, TX; two sisters Loyce Phillips and Charles of Big Spring, TX., Joyce Tatum and Don of Post; three grandchildren Lindsy Terry of Snyder, Rusty Josey of Las Vegas, NV., Taylor Josey of Greenville, TX; two great-granddaughters Madison Alarcon and Kylee Flannery; two great-grandsons Scotty and Zachary Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Lester, R.E., and Roy Josey, sister Elsie Wright, greatgrandsons Mickey Mathews and Brady Mathews.
