Sandra Lee (Veach) Wilson, 84, of Post, Texas, passed peacefully from this life Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025.
Sandy was born July 15, 1941, to John and Alma Veach in Draw, Texas, the youngest of five daughters. As a young child, she moved with her family to Post, where she made her home for the rest of her life.
She graduated from Post High School in 1959 and began working at the Postex Mill after graduation. A coworker, Mary Nelson, introduced Sandy to her brother, Deljuan. The two fell in love and married in 1964 after Del’s discharge from the navy. They were married 60 years and had two children and four grandchildren.
Sandy worked in several restaurants in Post before running her own restaurant and donut shop, the Country Carousel.
Sandy was a faithful, lifelong member of the Post Church of Christ. She was a woman who was often behind the scenes taking care of others. She was not showy and didn’t like to be the center of attention. She could be found taking food to others, driving people to their appointments, cleaning up after events, or sending cards to encourage people.
Sandy was a dog lover and had several beloved pets throughout her life. She will be missed by her sweet little dog, Mollie. Sandy loved sweets, and often started her meal with her dessert. She loved to
read mystery stories, and work the daily crossword and jumble puzzles.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Del Wilson of Post; daughter, Nancy Baker, and her husband, Kyle, of Denton; daughterin- law, Sabrina Wilson of Peacock; grandchildren, Tyler Wilson of Slaton, Holly Wilson of Fairview, Aubrey Baker of Waco and Cole Baker of Waco; sister, Patty Coburn of Fostoria, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sherrell and Robin Wilson of Slaton; sister- in-law, Wilma Wilson of Lubbock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Wilson, and three sisters, Marvella Hooper, Joyce Hodges and Lois Walls.
Funeral services were held Aug. 18, 2025, at Post Church of Christ with Travis Sweet officiating. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Visitation was held Aug. 17 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Tyler Wilson, Cole Baker, Sherrell Wilson, Derek Walls, Lynn Simpson and Wade Wilson.
