Mike Babb, 66, lovingly known as “Babbo,” passed away Aug. 22, 2025.
Mike was born on June 29, 1959, in Post, Texas. He made lifelong memories and friendships there.
In recent years, he made his home with his son and family, cherishing the simple joys of daily life. He especially loved mornings with his grandson Cade watching PBR and evenings when granddaughter Madeline ran into his arms to avoid bath time. Mike also enjoyed fishing, riding back roads and spending time with friends. He carried on the family name through Babb’s BBQ, was known for his buttermilk pies, and served many years on the Post Stampede Rodeo board.
Mike is survived by his son Trent and wife Cheyenne; grandchildren Cade and Madeline; sisters Dana Babb, Puncher Henley, and Amy and husband Barry Morris; nephews Ryan and Ross Babb; and nieces K’Leigh Chamberlain, Kayla Richardson, and Brooke Morris, with the title of “favorite niece” still in question. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Joe and Barbara Babb; brother, Randy Babb; and sister-in-law, Deanna.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Hudman Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Post Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Terrace Cemetery.
