Norma Joy McGrew passed away peacefully at her home November 18, 2025 in Midland, Texas. Born August 3,1928 to Marvin and Jimmie Hudman in Post, Texas, she had a happy childhood, attended Post School and graduated Post High School as the valedictorian of her class.
Norma attended TSCW for her freshman year of college. She transferred to Texas Technological
College and was a member of the Las Chapparitas social club. She received her bachelor’s degree in clothing and textiles. Norma and Bill met while both were employees of the Texas Electric Service Company. She was the home economist, and Bill was the administrative assistant. They enjoyed a happy marriage that included many trips with the family until his death in 2010.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; her nephew Randy Polk; and her sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Travis Polk. She is survived by Shelley and Barry Brown of Salado, Texas; Susan and John Soukup of Holcomb, Kansas; and Marla Polk and Tony Barker as well as several great nieces, nephews, great-grand-nephews, and a great-grand-niece. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
