Beatriz was born Nov. 1, 1945, in Post, Texas, to Willie Salinas and Enemencia Salinas. Post was always home to Beatriz. She spent 35 years living on a ranch outside Post before returning to the small town where she was born and raised, where she would spend the rest of her life.

On Sept. 2, 1961, Beatriz married the love of her life, Alejandro Mesa. Together, they shared a remarkable 65 years of marriage, celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary just days before her passing. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Teresa Mesa Diaz, Alejandrito Mesa and Willie Mesa. Life on the ranch was an important chapter in Beatriz’s life. She was a wonderful cook and spent many years preparing meals not only for her family, but also for the ranch hands. Her home was a gathering place for those she loved, and over the years she hosted many family holidays, bringing everyone together around her table. The meals she prepared and the time spent together became treasured family memories.

For many years, Beatriz also drove a school bus in Justiceburg, Texas. Beatriz was a lifelong Catholic, and her faith remained an important part of her life. She will especially be remembered for her gentle and loving nature. So many who knew Beatriz described her simply as a sweet woman. Her kindness, quiet warmth and devotion to her family left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 65 years, Alejandro Mesa; her daughter, Teresa Mesa Diaz and husband Dathan Diaz of Midland, Texas; and her son, Willie Mesa of Snyder, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary Saldivar and wife Christina of Amarillo, Texas; Amy Saldivar of Austin, Texas; Michael Diaz of Portland, Oregon; and Alexia Diaz of San Antonio, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Jayden Saldivar of Austin, Texas, and Junhi Saldivar of Amarillo, Texas.

Beatriz was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Salinas and Enemencia Salinas; her beloved son, Alejandrito Mesa; her brothers, Ricardo Salinas and Marcial Salinas; and her sister, Norberta Cavazos.

Beatriz leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and a lifetime of memories that will continue through the generations. She will be remembered for the meals she lovingly prepared, the holidays she made special, her steadfast faith, her gentle spirit and, above all, the love she gave to her family.

Her sweet and loving presence will be deeply missed, but the life she lived and the love she gave will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

May she rest in eternal peace.
