Bobby “Bob” Douglas Arnold, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2025, in Post, Texas. He was 77.
Bob was born on Dec. 13, 1948, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to proud parents Douglas and Jawanna (Newberry) Arnold. He lived a life marked by hard work, devotion and a love for the simple joys that mattered most—his family, his friends and his horses.
Bob married the love of his life, Natha Jo Arnold, and together they shared 22 wonderful years of marriage in Post. Their home was filled with laughter, kindness and the easy companionship that comes from a true partnership. Bob and Natha Jo shared a deep love for the land and their horses, spending countless hours together caring for them and enjoying the quiet beauty of rural life.
Those who knew Bob will remember his steady presence, warm smile, determination (or stubbornness) and unwavering loyalty. He had a gift for making people feel at ease and a way of leaving every place—and every person—a little better than he found them. He was a hard worker who could fix just about anything with whatever tools he had. He was quick-witted, steadfast in his ways, ornery and always genuine. Whether he was swapping stories over coffee, lending a hand to a neighbor or working with his horses, Bob lived with quiet strength and sincere goodness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Natha Jo; his son, Robby Arnold, and wife, Melissa, of La Porte, Texas; his daughter, Kristi Edelman, and husband, Kraig, of Purcell, Oklahoma; his daughter, Emily Curran, and husband, Jay, of Mannsville, Oklahoma; his stepson, Shawn Henderson, and fiancée, Christie, of Fredericksburg, Texas; his grandchildren, Maria Arnold and husband, Danny; Douglas Arnold and wife, Tonya; McKayla Arnold; Reese Arnold; Ryan Arnold; Zack Edelman and fiancée, Maddie; Adam Edelman; Luke Edelman; and Norah Curran; his great-grandchildren, Delilah and Eliza Arnold; his special nieces, Kim Kraft and Torie Townley; his horses; and his little dog, Pebbles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Jo Arnold; his sister, Betty Lou Auld; his infant son, Joe Douglas Arnold; and his infant granddaughter, McKenzie Joy Arnold.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11, 2025, at Graham Chapel Methodist Church in Post, Texas. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Bob Arnold’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him—in the quiet grace of the life he built and in the wide Texas skies he so dearly loved.
Pallbearers were Caleb Howard, Curtis Biggs, Zack Edelman, Luke Edelman, Adam Edelman and Douglas Arnold.
