Chloe Mason Whitehead, 33, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025. She was born on Feb. 12, 1992, to Brad and Penny Mason. She was the baby of the “Mason girls.”
Chloe met her soulmate, Luke Whitehead, in the spring of 2012 and never spent another moment apart from him. They were two kindred spirits who had the good fortune of finding each other in Midland, Texas. Luke absolutely adored the free-spirited girl who was unapologetically unique. He was the yin to her yang. They surprised their families with a photo text of themselves in front of Elvis at the Little Neon Chapel in Las Vegas on Feb. 13, 2017. Chloe was the first girl in the Whitehead family of all boys, and they embraced and loved her as their own. Chloe and Luke loved to spend time traveling to all places near and far; be it by bicycle or by plane, they had no limits to their sense of adventure.
In 2021, Chloe began the welding program at Midland College and completed the two-year course before taking on her dream of becoming an aviation maintenance technician. She worked diligently and secured a job with Floris Flight Services in Midland, Texas, while she completed her studies. In May 2025 she received her FAA A&P license and was hired fulltime with Floris.
Chloe had worked for years in Midland at the Hemingway Wine and Cigar Bar and made a multitude of friends. She loved welding with her dad and honing her skills. Chloe loved to come home and cook with her Moma and watch scary movies. The sisters had such a special bond and would laugh for hours on end, dancing in the kitchen and singing to music they loved. Chloe loved the time she spent hanging out, golfing and biking with her Whitehead family. She adored her nephews and nieces and loved spending time laughing and being the star of family get togethers.
Chloe always had a unique style, and that continued from a little girl who would only wear dresses, to adulthood. She was as comfortable in jeans and flannel with a welding mask as she was in a beautiful dress with heels; she was one of a kind, and we will never fill the void of her loss.
Chloe is survived by her husband, Luke Whitehead; Moma, Penny Mason; Dad, Brad Mason and his wife, Cynthia; her sisters, Jessica Adams and her husband, Adrian, Xane Reiter and her husband, Danny and Madison Furr and her husband, Cody. She had five nephews and nieces from her sisters, Ben Furr, Ruby Adams, Samuel Reiter, Ava Reiter and Jack Furr; her mother and fatherin- law, John and Marcy Whitehead; Luke’s three brothers, Andy Whitehead, Matt Whitehead, and Peter Whitehead and his wife, Brittany; and her nieces and nephew Eleanor Whitehead, Rhys Whitehead and Leona Whitehead. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Mim, Jane Mason. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ted and Marilyn Williams and her paternal grandfather Lewis Mason.
A celebration of Chloe’s life will be held at the Post Community Center at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23. We welcome all family and friends to come join us by viewing videos and photos and just sharing memories of our beautiful baby girl and Luke’s “Babe.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund for the Aviation Maintenance Program at Midland College, established at People’s Bank in Post, Texas. Chloe would be honored to see another young person fulfill the same dream.
