DIANA GAYLE POE

Diana passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Aug. 19, 2023, in Midland, TX. She was born to Marietta and Charles Pruitt on Sept. 15, 1947, in Post, TX. Diana raised all seven of her children in Post, where she lived her life.

She started South Plains Answering Service 44 years ago. She referred to the business as “her baby” and loved all her customers like family. Always a philanthropist, she donated to several charities and organizations. Diana organized more benefits than anyone can name for the people in Post.

She is survived by her children Dana Tanner of Post; Lanny Poe of Slaton; Tina and her husband, Ervin of Granbury; Joe Poe of Post; Dawna Hood and her husband, Jeff of Post, and Shawna Brown of Post. Her sisters Karen Palmer and her husband Sammy, Anita Morris and her husband, Wesley, all of Post. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 42 greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as all the members of the community who dearly loved her.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronnie Pruitt, her ‘favorite child’ Joyce Taylor, a great-grandson, Ashton Lamberson and a greatgranddaughter, Synin Tanner.

A celebration of life was Wednesday, Aug 24 at the Post Community Center, 113 A private graveside service is planned for a later date.

Diana truly lived a life worth celebrating, her legacy will always be one of service, love and giving.
