JOSHUA PHILIP HEWLETT

Joshua Philip Hewlett, known to many as Josh, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 31 in Post, TX. He was born on July 29, 1992, in Laramie, WY to his parents, Cindi (DeBow) and John Hewlett. Joshua is survived by his wife, BrieAnne (Hood) Hewlett, and five children: Emmah, Leeah, Kierah, Kylah, and Lucah; his grandparents Mary (Kaiser) Hewlett, Joye (Sidwaski) and Ralph DeBow; his parents; as well as his sisters Mandy (Easton) Morgan, Celina (Hewlett) Knakmuhs, Clarisa (Hewlett) Heien, Christiana Hewlett, and Cecilia (Hewlett) Stevenson; and his brothers Jedidiah and Jeremiah Hewlett. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nevaeh, grandfather George Hewlett, and brother Josiah Hewlett.

Joshua’seducationaljourney began at Seton Home School, where he completed his primary and high school education. He later attended Laramie County Community College for his higher education. While growing up in Laramie he competed in 4-H, showing sheep, goats, rabbits, andmore. He volunteered with the Big Laramie Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the SonsoftheAmericanLegion.

Joshua worked on ranches up the Big Laramie River, in the Laramie Valley WY, and Fort Benton MT, and recently was an electrician apprentice in Post, TX.

In his free time, Joshua enjoyed horseback riding, backpacking, fishing, and hunting. These hobbies allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors with family and friends.

Joshua was a person of faith and worshipped at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church in Laramie, WY, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Benton, MT, and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Post, TX. His spiritual beliefs were an integral part of his life and provided him with guidance and strength.

A ceremony to celebrate Joshua’s life was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Rite of the Vigil Service took place on Feb. 9, 2024, followed by the Rite of the Funeral Mass on Feb. 10, 2024, both officiated by Reverend Jacob Powell. The Rite of Committal was held following theFuneralMass,alsoled by Reverend Jacob Powell at TerraceCemeteryinPost,TX.

JoshuaPhilipHewlettwill be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, his contagious laugh, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
