Linda Puckett,

a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on Aug. 18, 2025, at her home in Post, Texas. A funeral service was held Aug. 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Post with Pastor Delton Osborn officiating. Burial followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. The family received friends Aug. 22 at the Heritage House in Post.

Linda was born on Dec. 14, 1941, in Roxton, Texas. Linda’s warm presence and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. Linda dedicated her life serving the community of Post and as curator of the Garza County Historical Museum. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. Linda’s love for her family and the people of this community was unparalleled, and she often expressed this through the time she spent with them.

Linda’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her laughter, her love of life and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Donna Cramer of Red Oak and Cynthia Bell of Post, and her son Gary Puckett of Post and daughter Brandi Booher of Lubbock. She also leaves behind stepsons Arthur Puckett of Cleburne and Rance Puckett of Lubbock; brothers Ronnie Vandygriff, Michael Vandergriff, Rodney Mahagan and Art Mahagan; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Puckett; father, Milburn Vandygriff; mother, Evelyn Lucille Mahagan; stepfather, Arthur Mahagan; brothers Clyde Vandygriff and James Vandygriff; and grandson Pistol Booher.

As we say goodbye to Linda, we celebrate the life of a woman who was a beacon of kindness and love. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family and to the community of Post, a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the countless lives she touched. Linda’s memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our hearts and remember the light she brought into this world.
