Mary (Maria) Baldree was born on July 3, 1934, in Dallas, TX. She married her first husband, Paul John Ramires on Jan. 6, 1951. Paul died in 1953. She had two children, Barbara and Paul John Jr. In 1955, Paul Jr. passed away at the age of 2. She raised another child, Paula “Titti” Hernandez, as her own.

Mary worked for several years at the cotton textile mill in Post, TX. She married Jake Baldree on June 2, 1972. She had twin boys, Russell and Robert. Mary had an incredible faith and was the rock of her family. She loved Jesus and that love was obvious. She was well known for her tamales and burritos. She was affectionately known as the “burrito lady” in town. She loved her family, cooking, and making people smile.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Rumaldo Madrid and Marcelina Gonzales Madrid, her husband Jake Baldree, and son Russell Baldree.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Martinez, Paula Hernandez, and a son, Robert Baldree. She leaves a loving legacy with 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary danced into Heaven on Dec. 4, 2023, at the age of 89. Funeral services were held, Dec. 8, 2023 at Living Water Apostolic Church with Lance Gill officiating. Interment followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home
