Natalee Tracy Shepherd, 89, passed away Sept. 11, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born May 11, 1936, to the late George H. and Thelma Jo Tracy in Abernathy, Texas.
She graduated from Post High School in 1954. Natalee married the love of her life, Doug Shepherd, in 1954, and they were married 69 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, and her parents. Those left to cherish her memories are her three sons, Rick and wife, Cindy; Mike and wife, Stacie; and Brad and wife, Holli; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Carpenter, of Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Natalee was a stay-athome mother until her sons finished school. She began a 20-year career with the Garza County Probation Office, where she made lifelong friends. Natalee was a faithful member of Post Methodist Church. Her faith was her rock, guiding her actions and service. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed all the birthday and holiday gatherings. It was the joy of her life to be involved in her grandchildren’s activities. Natalee especially enjoyed Cousins Week, when all the grandchildren would come to Nana and Papa’s house.
In her later years, she was blessed to know her great-grandchildren, and they brought her great joy.
Arrangements are under the care of Hudman Funeral Home, Post, Texas. Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The service will be held at Hudman Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Sam Espinosa officiating.
