RICHARD DELEON

Richard “Ricardo” Deleon, on Sunday, July 16, 2023, was welcomed to his eternal home with open arms by our Lord while the angels were rejoicing by his presence.

He was born on April 01, 1942, in San Antonio Tx to his parents Jose and Maria (Sanchez) Deleon.

He served in the naval forces shortly after graduating high school, seeing the world off of the USS Westchester CTY Naval vessel. Upon returning to the States he met and married Anita P. Deleon on June 29, 1968, in Grassland, Tx. He operated the last Full-Service gas station in Post TX. Prior to that, he was employed by Burlington Industries for numerous years.

Richard was a kind spirit, well respected by so many in his family as well as in his community. He had a quiet gentle way about him, one that will be remembered by all those that were privileged to be a part of his life.

Although he (they) never had children, he was a “father figure” to so many of his nephews and nieces, living a life of kindness, gentleness, and loving everyone he mentored.

His hobbies included fishing, grilling, and just fellowshipping with family and friends. Although, he was never too busy to stop what he was doing and go fishing. His presence will be deeply missed and never replaced.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Deleon and Maria Sanchez Deleon, he is survived by his caring wife of 55 years, Anita Peña Deleon. As well as his sisters Marta Deleon and Gloria Abraham (Louis) and numerous nephews and nieces.
