William “Bud” D. Howell

“Bud” William D. Howell, age 94, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born to William and Emma Jane Howell on August 27, 1929, in Minerva, Texas.

He was a proud Veteran who served his country while on a Navy destroyer during the Korean War.

After the war, he went to school and became a Texas Game Warden. He served in several counties in East Texas and then set roots in Post, Texas. He retired in 1991 after serving the State of Texas for 35 years as a Texas Game Warden.

He loved the Lord, his family, all things outdoors, and his cat.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann of Lubbock, and a sister, Susie Weems of Rockdale. Step-daughter Kelly and husband Wade Maner, step-granddaughter Amy Maner, all of Lubbock. A nephew, Ted and wife, Amy Weems of Justiceburg, a niece Diane and husband John Fishero of Spring, and many other family and friends.

Private services were held on November 8, 2023, under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
