Lady Lopes host Caprock Clash Tournament

The Post Lady Lopes are scheduled to host the Caprock Clash volleyball tournament Friday, Aug. 14, to Saturday, Aug. 15.The tournament will take place across the Post ISD campus, with games being played in the Antelope Arena, the high school gym, and the elementary gym.

Lady Eagles begin volleyball season

The Southland Lady Eagles are entering their second season in program history. The Lady Eagles are led by Jonathan Ingle, who is also in his second season with Southland.The Lady Eagles are scheduled to begin their season this week with a dual match at Tahoka on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Last week, Pete’s Pigskin Previews on KCBD News Channel 11, Lubbock, soared into the end of July and helped kick off the start of the Texas high school football season.On July 28, sportscaster Pete Christy interviewed Jeremy Holt, head coach of the Silverton Owls.

UIL to require wet bulb globe temperature for Texas schools

Starting August 1, 2026, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) will require schools to use wet bulb globe temperature readings to determine whether it is safe for student-athletes to practice outdoors.
