Young anglers participate in annual fishing derby

The Post Masonic Lodge 1508 hosted its annual Kids Fishing Derby on June 13 at the Post City Park. Children old enough to hold a fishing pole, up to 13 years old, were encouraged to participate in the derby and enjoy a meal from the Masonic Lodge.

Construction crews poured redtinted concrete around the Post Rotary Centennial clock site in downtown Post. Funds for the new landmark were raised by the Post Rotary Club in honor of the city’s centennial.

Post city council addresses housing, infrastructure, budget at June 9 meeting

The Post City Council tackled a packed agenda during its June 9 meeting, focusing on property standards, neighborhood redevelopment and longterm planning for the community.The meeting began with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance before council members moved into a series of public hearings.

Post cheerleaders earn honors at UCA camp

Members of the Post High School varsity cheer team earned multiple honors while attending the Universal Cheerleaders Association camp June 7–10 at Texas Tech University.The squad received two Superior ribbons, one for their camp routine and another for their sideline cheer performance.

Southland principal battles leukemia with support from community

Friends, family and supporters across the South Plains have rallied around Jason Trook, the newly named principal at Southland ISD, following his diagnosis with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a rare but highly treatable form of leukemia.

WTC partnership with Hardin-Simmons University expands transfer opportunities

SNYDER— Western Texas College and Hardin- Simmons University recently formalized a new articulation agreement designed to help students transfer more smoothly from WTC into bachelor’s degree programs at Hardin-Simmons University.

Kids Fishing Derby set for June 13 at Post City Park

Children ages 13 and younger are invited to participate in the annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 13, at Post City Park.Hosted by Post Masonic Lodge No. 1058, the event will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. Fishing is scheduled from 8 to 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m.
