Felipe Gonzales Vargas, Jr. was born in October 1970 to Felipe Sr. and Aurora. He grew up in Post, TX, and after high school enlisted in the Navy.

During his time in the Navy, he served in the First Gulf War, and received a Sanitarian Service Metal, .45 Caliber Pistol Sharpshooter Award, a Meritorious Commendation, and 3 Letters of Commendation. He was honorably discharged as a Mineman Class A after 4 years of service in 1993.

After a brief time in New Jersey, he moved back to Texas, and held many different positions in law enforcement and in the trades as a master craftsman. His family remembers how he particularly loved woodworking, always the perfectionist.

They saw him give 110% to any endeavor that he partook in.

While not always showing it as well as he would have wished, family was the most important thing to him, and he will be remembered by those closest to him for the good things that he did in his short time here.

Romans 8: 38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
