Bobby Joe Smith, a lifelong Post resident went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was born in Post on October 10,1963 to Jimmy Durrell Smith and Edna Annell Bruton Smith. Bobby earned an associate degree from South Plains College, and was a Certified Nursing Associate.

D’Wayne Gannon

James D’Wayne Gannon passed away February 16, 2023, at the age of 72. D’Wayne was born to Sam James and Verna Adell (Bass) Gannon on August 8, 1950, in Crosbyton, TX. He grew up in a farming and ranching family as the oldest of four children, attended school in Post, TX, and graduated in 1968.

Long time Post resident James “Jimmy” Thomas Ammons, Jr. went to the Lord Monday February 20, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. Jimmy was born on November 23, 1951, in Slaton, TX to James Thomas Ammons, Sr. and Margaret Williamson. He went to Post schools, then graduated with a GED.

Randy Melton

Randy Melton, 65, of Post, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at his residence. He was born December 24, 1957, to Don and Johnnie Louise Melton in Terry County. Randy spent much of his adulthood working in the oilfield and spent 20-plus years working for H&M.

Laveta Norman

LAVETA NORMAN Laveta Bass Norman, 91, passed away Thursday, Jan.y 26, 2023 in Slaton, Texas. She was born Aug. 9, 1931, to James and Pauline Bass in Terry County. Laveta graduated from Wellman High School in 1948 and married Gerald V. Norman on Oct. 21, 1949, He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 2013.

WYNONA K. GOSSETT Wynona K. Gossett 96, of Lubbock formerly of Post passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023. Graveside services were held Jan.30, 2023, at Terrace Cemetery with Tracy Taylor officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.

SOFIA PALOS Sofia Palos 98, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at her residence. Holy Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 30, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Jacob Powell officiating.

Gary Eugene “Red” Workman

Gary Eugene “Red” Workman was born on April 10, 1953 in Frost, TX to Norris and Syble (Hightower) Workman. He went to his eternal home on January 20, 2023 at the age of 69. Red graduated from Post High School in 1971 and briefly attended South Plains College while working as a cowboy.

Angelita “Angie” Garza passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was born May 25, 1944 in Bebe, TX to her parents Jose and Benita Pena, she worked in Lubbock, TX with her family, and resided in Gonzales, TX in the later years of her life.

Juan “Nune” Bustoz, Jr.

Juan “Nune” Bustoz Jr. died peacefully of natural causes, on Jan. 1, 2023, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born on Sept. 19, 1952, in Post, Texas, the son of Juan Sr. and Audiencia.
